And my family call me

The Girl with seven crafts

I’m a Moroccan Muslim children’s illustrator and character designer, based near Rabat, in a city with a cliff and a strong scent of the ocean. I grew up on my grandmother’s folktales, playing hopscotch and five stones in the streets.

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. My first illustrations were of animated characters I used to watch, like Tom and Jerry, Princess Sarah, and Belle and Sebastian. I used to give all my drawings away, it made me happy, though I regret it a little now.

I studied optics and worked as an optician for over five years, while also working as a character designer for animation, wishing that one day art would be the only thing I do. In 2024, that wish came true. I became a full-time children’s illustrator and character designer. I’m now also working on writing my own stories, combining my love for storytelling and illustration.

I work mainly with Photoshop and Procreate, and sometimes I love getting my hands dirty with gouache, watercolors, and markers.

When I’m not drawing, I’m probably reading a book, cooking one of my favorite meals, swimming long distances, or fighting with my cat Lucy because she won’t let me touch her.
